Despite what you may think, I have not actually drawn this exact page before.

You see, it's funny because a sordid affair is a shocking situation, while "sworded" sounds like "sordid" and would mean having a sword used on one, and "affair" often is used to denote an extramarital affair where one person is pursuing an romantic relationship outside of their established romantic relationship.
