Chronicle comic

I started writing a treatise on the legal situation involved here, but it was getting long, and it occurred to me that maybe I could fit some of the explanation into my comic later. So let me just say a few points:

1) This location of this scene is a place where the Empire of the Sun does have some jurisdiction.

2) Akhektuak's assertion that he is required to pass judgment on his host is somewhat dubious, but not wholly indefensible.

3) The current political situation, common popular belief, the host's lack of specialized legal knowledge, and Akhektuak's intimidating presence create an environment where the host is unlikely to contradict Akhektuak's assertion.
