Sometimes, it's not about what is said, it's about what's not said. I think you could look at this page and see all sorts of subtle themes. But rather than stating them explicitly, I've removed all but the merest trace of them. What is this page really about? Is it just the servant telling Akhektuak that the ambassador will see him now, or is something more going on? I believe it's my job as an artist to let the art speak for itself, but I just want you to try to see beyond the obvious to what is less visible. And while I'm confident that the art can speak on its own, I'll provide a small hint as to a theme many of you have no doubt guessed at already. That hint is 1914.

You see, it's funny because "funny" rhymes with "sunny", clowns are generally meant to be funny, and there's a way of preparing eggs called "sunny-side up."
