Some of you might be thinking, "Is all of this dead father stuff happening because we're around the third anniversary of the death of Nathan's dad, and he's being depressed, and it's affecting his art?" To which I say, "No, though good on you for keeping such good track of the passage of time. I am impressed." No, while the timing is coincidental, it just happens that Akhektuak's father is dead. I admit that my saying that he died three years ago does make it seem autobiographical, though I assure you that very little of this comic is meant to be autobiographical. I certainly don't want anyone thinking that I'm secretly a floating monster with sharp teeth. While my teeth are quite strong by human standards, they are not any sharper than most people's.
You see, it's funny because pinyin is a standard Romanization of Chinese, and sounds a little like "pigeon", while being pigeon-holed is a phrase referring to people being thought of as belonging in one particular role to the exclusion of others. |
