Some readers may disagree with Akhektuak's opinion that legal procedures are "interesting." You see, it's funny because a spine is the part of a book that is where all the pages are bound together, but having a spine is also slang for standing up for oneself in the metaphorical sense of asserting one's interests. However, spiral-bound books don't have spines and also literally cannot stand up for themselves, as any attempt to stand them on end will result in them falling. |
