You know, it wasn't until I was putting in the date for this that I realized it's September 11th. So that's a thing. I wonder when we as a society stop remembering September 11th. I mean, we still commemorate Pearl Harbor on December 7th, but I can't think of any other dates of tragedies that we as a society broadly remember. I don't know the date of the stock market crash of 1929 or the date of any presidential assassination. I don't know the dates of any Civil War or Revolutionary War battles. I don't know the date of the Boston Massacre. All of which makes me wonder when we stop remembering September 11th. Will it be in my lifetime? Will I live to see a September when people don't talk about the World Trade Center? I mentioned remembering Pearl Harbor, but I think even the date of that is fading. So will we start forgetting about 9/11 around 2080? Anyway, here's a comic. The joke was "Why did the Toyota feed a rug? Because it was a car pet!" |
